Ventures in Reflection

People who work in software ventures tend to have a lot of energy. It takes a lot to give a lot, and in startups, you need to give what it takes.

Having worked in startups of one kind or another, of one size or another, at one stage or another, for more than twenty five years, I find myself looking for the next one again.

Every startup has its story. And as I look for the next venture, reflecting on some of these stories seems like a good place to begin.

So here in this "software ventures" blog, are some reflections on life and times, good and bad (and ugly) in the business of working as a technologist in software startups.

Maybe these reflections will be of interest to other technology people. Maybe some of the people whose paths have crossed in these ventures will see themselves in the story, and want to add their comments to add shape to the reflection.

I hope that each anecdote honors the people whose commitment ignited the fuel that powered each launch, whether or not escape velocity was achieved.
